Extended School Year (ESY)
Dates for school-based programs: June 4-28, 2018
Extended school year (ESY) refers to special education and/or related services provided beyond the normal school year of a public agency for the purpose of providing a free, appropriate public education (FAPE) to a student with a disability in accordance with the child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) at no cost to the family.
Decisions regarding ESY are made on an individual basis during an IEP meeting. Questions regarding specific ESY services should be directed to your child’s case manager.
